The New Royals on the European Block

And by "new royals", I mean old royals with new titles. Ladies and ladies, say hello to the newly minted King and Queen of Spain, King Felipe and Queen Letizia! More importantly, say hello to another famous royal who dresses modestly, one who I'll be ardently following. I've always had my eye on Letizia and her fashion, but now that she's Queen, it's time to step up my devotion to her wardrobe.

The affair in Madrid was relatively low-key, but that didn't stop Letizia from banging out this awesome bejeweled coat dress for the occasion. And let's just point out those adorable dresses on Felipe and Letizia's little girls. Hastag adorbs.

 

Modest Hollywood

While I love fashion and prowl celebrity outfits like it's my job (because it kinda is), there are very few fashion idols that I wish to emulate in every possible way. There is no question, however, that Olivia Palermo is hands down my fashion idol. There are very few things that she wears that I don't like, and I often find myself looking for pieces that mimic hers. Her outfit below is one of my favorites as it has just the right amount class and quirk to be perfect. FYI My other fashion idol is Kiernan Shipka-- yes the mini January Jones from Mad Men is probably one of the best dressed ladies in Hollywood and has the fashion thing DOWN.Keep on keeping on, ladies.

This is What You Wear to a 93 Year-Old's Birthday Party

This. It's been worn before, but Kate pulled out one of my all-time favorite show stopping looks for her granfather's-in-law birthday party. It was this blush/golden colored dress by Alexander McQueen. All hail McQueen. Keeping it classy, Kitty-Kat.

The Nautical Princess

Before most of us Americans even woke up this morning, Kate Middleton was out and about being her glamorous self at charity event. Kate wore a season appropriate, nautical inspired white Jaeger dress with blue trim detailing that was the picture of sophistication, and quite frankly, made me want to go sailing. FYI, I don't sail.

Let's all take a minute to be shocked by the presence of blue on Kate. It's no surprise that this is her favorite color, and this dress matches her sapphire and diamond jewelry perfectly. And to complete her prim and proper look are my favorite navy heels that are both pretty, functional and wearable.

Modest Hollywood

Hey there, pretty ladies! It's still springtime in NY (and it actually feels like spring, too!) and the women of Hollywood are look pretty, fresh and modest. There are so many spring trends in this one post I can hardly contain myself, but I'll try. 

PRINTS! They're my absolute favorite, and I am especially loving Alexa Chung, Zoe Saldana, Audrey Tautou, Sofia Coppola and  Camilla Belle. They totally WORK it.I just made a mental note to wear more prints than I already do. This should be fun. 

Take note of all the white! It's after memorial day, and although that rule is way more blurred than it used to be, you can "officially" wear the heck out of white now. See: Alexa Chung, Amy Poehler, Helen Mirren, Jaime King, Julianne Moore, Paz Vega, and Uma Thurman.
