Modest Hollywood

As you all know, awards season is upon us and that means that fashion is taken to a higher, more respectable level. Unless you are at the Grammy's, you will be hard pressed to find women traipsing around the various luncheons, press junkets, and award ceremonies dressed as a Vegas showgirl. The women of Hollywood tend to step their game up a bit and you will be sure to find that with the ladies below. Every single one of these women exude positively gorgeous vibes, all while staying relatively covered up.

I am an especially big fan of Emma Stone and Jennifer Lopez's looks-- big skirts, don't care. Love love love it. Get ready for the SAG Awards rundown this weekend!

The Blue Duchess

She's out and about and looking better than before. Kate Middleton made another appearance today doing something charitable at some charity thing, and to the surprise of many (read: no one) she wore blue. This powder blue coat by Seraphine would normally irk me as juvenile, but it works so well on the 6 month pregnant Kate. Beneath the coat was a Seraphine maternity dress that was one of my favorite looks the Princess has worn in months. The dress is elegant, classy, has a bold yet subtle print, and compliments Kate in every way. It hits the knee just perfectly and has the perfect flounce; in other words. I would get it for myself, minus the pregnancy thing (#single #notaprincess).
Everything from jewelry to those ubiquitous blue shoes was on point. Welcome back Kate.

@KensigntonRoyal: All About That Hemline and that Bump

Oh hey, Kate. Nice to see you out and about in only your second appearance since your trip to New York.

The now clearly pregnant Kate-- because honestly, it really wasn't clear that she was actually with child until now-- wore this blue (SHOCKER) Madderson London dress for a school visit. Practicing her PTA skills! The dress was shockingly short for the Princess who, other than her NY visit, is known for wearing longer, knee-length hemlines. This dress is cute. Not her best, but not bad. Never bad. It does accentuate her growing belly-- if one could actually call it growing. It's more like expanding at a glacial pace. We sure so hope an actual life-size baby comes out of there and not a cabbage patch kid.

You may be wondering who exactly @KensingtonRoyal is, and I shall tell you. Yesterday, the most glorious thing happened to twitter-- the Prince and Princess and their brother Harry joined twitter. Yes, their aides and advisers will now officially be tweeting on behalf of the royal trio under that twitter handle. CAN YOU HANDLE IT?

Don't ask me who that crazy human-being is next to Kate. I don't know and I don't care.

Golden Globes 2015: The Best and Worst Dressed!

Ladies and ladies (and maybe some gentlemen), allow me to present to you my first best and worst dressed list of 2015! The Golden Globes tends to set the stage (pardon the pun) for all the award season's most glamorous fashion, so it's no surprise that this list had plenty to choose from. There were many women I actually wanted on this Best Dressed list, but these precious few made my cut (although there are quite a few honorable mentions).

As for the Worst Dressed list, I think you'll find that most of my picks were on point. See for yourself.

In no particular order, my best and worst lists are as follows

---------BEST---------

REESE WITHERSPOON
This look is not only classic and glamorous, it flipping stunning. This look is purely feminine gunmetal-- I mean, those two words don't actually belong together in a sentence, let alone in a dress, but Reese made it happen.

EMMA STONE
This is probably the best looking Why-Did-She-Wear-That look that ever was, ever. It's truly flawless and I cannot find one thing wrong with it. I love this look from head to pant.

ALLISON WILLIAMS
Well if this isn't classic and stunning, I don't know what is. The make-up is a touch vampy, but hey, she was just Peter Pan. She needed to grow up.

JENNA DEWAN TATUM
One of my favorite looks of the night, hands down. This hot mama looks so elegant and classy, but still young and contemporary.

KATIE HOLMES
The only lady of the night to really wear this color and I adored it. She looked chic, modern and clean, and managed to pull off the simple gown with spectacular flair.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Julianne Moore, Salma Hayek, Naomi Watts, Helen Mirren, Viola Davis, and Greer Grammar

---------WORST---------

KIERA KNIGHTLET
Being pregnant is no excuse for walking out in public in your future babies' christening outfit and bib. I mean, if Kiera were to eat a jar of mashed sweet potatoes or green beans, she would be safe in knowing that that horrendous bib of a collar would catch the extra. Oh, and there are butterflies. NO.

MELISSA MCCARTHY
So, apparently his fabulous human being went shopping at Macy's for the Golden Globes. This is pretty much the most confused and tragic looking dress that Adrianna Papell will ever knock off.

RUTH WILSON
Well, if anyone was looking for a dress that resembled a subway map, look no further. This is the most unflattering cut, color, and combination of hues. Who made this? Stop making it now.

FELICITY JONES
Yikes. Someone forgot to put the hole in Felicity's keyhole. This is too much dress in too heavy a material. Stop smiling Felicity, you look like you're drowning in your sea colored dress.

LANA DEL REY
WHAT IS THIS. She looks like Arial, The Little Mermaid. And that's not a compliment in this case.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Jemima Kirke, Jennifer Lopez, Edie Falco and Laura Prepon
