Shiny Item of the Day

Today's item is super shiny but sophisticated. It can be worn over another shirt or, if you are comfortable showing some elbow, you can wear it as is. The cape blouse (check out the back of the blouse) is just perfect for shabbat and has such a pretty print that you almost can't say no to it!

Floppy Chic

Hats! I love them. I really, really do, and that's why I am doing a post about them. Obviously hats are very frum-friendly for the married folk, but I have such a crush on floppy hats lately, that I feel compelled to post about it and share with both single and married ladies alike.

Floppy hats exude pure effortless chic and make you look and feel like a million-trillion-bajillion dollars (that's a true fact--I tried one on in the store).

Stunning Item of the Day

Hello stunningness! This top from Urban Outfitters is so intricate and beautiful! White or black KikiRiki shells would be perfect with this, so fear not about the bareness. I wouldn't recommend a cardigan with this because the back of the top is as exquisite as the front, and you lose a lot of detailing when you cover it up. This is the perfect top to brighten up an black shirt and skirt, but would also dress up a denim skirt.Work it!

Versatile Item of the Day

So I have become slightly obsessed with this new website I found called Ruche out of California. Their prices are reasonable and their inventory is chic and adorable--click here to Shop Ruche

This next dress from Ruche looks so ridiculously comfortable and perfect for casual wear, but don't hesitate to dress it up for the office with a nice belt and some fancy-shmancy boots (or regular boots of the non-fancy-shmancy variety will do as well). Currently purchasing this as we speak. Thanks to my new bestie,  Ruche!

Modest Hollywood

I feel obliged to share with all my loyal readers that I am a Twilight fan. True, I do not bow down to Justin Bieber, I have no idea what 'Emo' is, and I gave up on Hannah Montana long ago,  but alas, the teeny-bopper inside of me rages with vampire and werewolf drama as strong as any 12 year old. FYI: I was always Team Edward.

Last night was the premiere of Breaking Dawn, Part 1 in LA, and a couple of ladies got it so right-- namely my favorite resident Jewess, Mayim Bialik! Kudos to Mayim on managing to capture the whimsy and mystery of the sultry story in her outfit. Dark hues, shiny accents--everything a diamond sparkling vampire could ask for.  Way to be age appropriate and on trend while still looking every bit the classy lady! I must say that it's refreshing to have a go-to star who I can always count on to get it right. Modesty is not dead! Vampires, however, are. Life lessons, my friends.

P.S. I'm borderline obsessed with that blue velvet trim! It's the shock value of the whole outfit that still manages to be subtle.

Pink and Silver

Last week both SJP and Fergie were parading around Hollywood's hottest parties in ensembles that were comprised of an unlikely pairing; apparently silver/grey and light pink are a hot trend right now, so I wanted to show you all a little pink-&-silver love. (Please also note the semi-tznius-ness to these outfits).

If you want to emulate these looks, search no further than these items I have brought to you today. Disclaimer: the dresses are not the most tzniut but a buttoned up blazer and/or a shell underneath will rectify your modesty issues. Take liberties here, ladies--I just deliver the goods.

Color Item of the Day

If there is any trend that is positively screaming right now, it's color blocking. Huge, huge, huge. Take for example this fantastic little sweater from Old Navy. It is the chicest little thing in the world and will look great with a denim skirt or a professional outfit.

I'm personally a fan of the navy/grey/yellow combo but this sweater does come in different color combos (and solids as well). Shop away my dear little Oakies!

Trendy Item of the Day

I am absolutely loving this blazer from Forever 21 and I want it now!. It looks so much more expensive than it actually is (and is probably  made better, too!).

This blazer is more casual and is softer than a full on black blazer, but the leather(ette) makes it a power piece all on its own. The waterfall lapels give it the final feminine touch--this one is a total do for any outfit both work and play.

You Know You Want This Item of the Day

I feature a lot of "pretty" things on this blog, but I am the biggest proponent of ridiculously comfortable (yet adorable) clothing. And nothing quite screams of cute and comfy like this sailor top!

Now, I know what you're thinking--nautical stripes is much more a summer thing than a fall/winter piece -- BUT... I don't care. I wear stripes year round; plus I just picture this shirt with a big, mushy soft cashmere sweater, and then all is right with the world.

Ahoy, maties! I mean, ladies!

Haute Item of the Day

Talk about FIERCE! This bolero is super duper haute couture but with a wallet friendly price courtesy of Lulus! Imagine a hum-drum dress being stellar-ified with this amazing piece. While it's certainly not for the office, it's the perfect addition for all you daring ladies out there for a wedding/occasion outfit.

Work it!

Modest Hollywood

Does it get any better??

Some of my FAVORITE Hollywood ladies are spectacularizing (ya, I made up that word) the red carpet, or the even just the streets this week in all their modest garb. Of course there are a few regulars (Jessica Alba, Miranda Kerr and Jennifer Garner) but there are some serious up-and-comers at The OAK lately! I have a secret soft spot for Felicity Jones' outfit, and Mayim Bialik and Tiffani Thiessen (yay for 90's teen queens!) both exude rocking confidence in their sheaths! Amber Heard's last few outfits have been stellar and sexy while still being modest!

Here is hoping this modesty "trend" never fades!

Dreamy Item of the Day

Pretty color, pretty awesome, and pretty modest! This dress is all parts whimsy and classy and is perfect for any season. While the color might be a little bright for winter, feel free to take liberties and winterize this with tights and a cashmere cardigan. Love it!
