My J-Law Oscars Gown Prediction: UPDATE!

I have a prediction update for you all now that the Spring Couture shows just showed in Paris. Last year, Jennifer Lawrence pulled her Oscars gown straight off the runway form Paris Couture week, so while I still hold by my last two predictions, here are four gowns that J-Law may don for the mecca of awards shows. None of them scream OSCARS to me, which is what makes me think she will still choose from the green or black number I showed you last week. But if she does choose from one the four below, which would you like to see her in?

My bet from this group is look #3!

1.                                                 2.

3.                                                  4.

2014 Grammy Awards: The Classy vs. The Cray Cray

The Grammy's are infamous for risk-taking in the fashion department which is why I always hesitate to put out a "best and worst dressed list." No one could actually be worst dressed at something when you are meant to show up looking cray cray. So the Grammy's are where I instead like to highlight the women who were truly breathtaking and beautiful in a classy and wonderful way. They don't have to be demure, they just have to own it. After all, isn't that what Rock n' Roll is all about?

------CLASSY------
If it makes it easier for you, you can label this my best-dressed list. If you haven't figured it out by now, gold is just the best color ever, so It would make sense that three of my top ladies are Golden tonight. Love it, ladies.

Ciara
Golden goddess. So beautiful from head to toe.

Taylor Swift
This is the most beautiful thing in the world since the creation of beautiful things. I dare any guy to break up with her in this. It just wouldn't happen, and if it does, then girl should definitely write a song about it.

Chrissy Tiegen
Thanks for making me feel inadequate as a woman. Really, thanks.

Pink
This woman has grown to be the lady of ladies. No one is more poised and generous and kind and beautiful as this woman right here.

------CRAY CRAY------
And now for the only look that really offended me tonight. The cray cray award goes to a woman who normally gets it right, but has failed miserably these last few appearances.

Paula Patton
This looks exactly like the suit that her husband Robin Thick wore to attack Miley in. This is the worst thing I have ever seen on a beautiful woman.

Modest Hollywood

The best rundown of Modest Hollywood ladies is back, and there is no shortage of dazzling women on the red carpet as of late. I like to think that if I had a spirit animal in fashion, she would be Rachel Bilson-- I simply adore her dress and style and I like to think I see myself in her. I also like to think I see myself with Wilson Bethel from Hart of Dixie (LONG LIVE #ZADE!), but that's how I know I live in an alternate reality very from this real one.

As for the future of this real world we live in? I know it lies in good hands with Kiernan Shipka existing in it. That girl is set to rule the world one day. You go, Sally Draper. And don't we all just want to be as adorkable as Zooey Deschanel? She makes polka dots look so easy.

Lastly, can we just discuss how Helen Mirren is rocking that gown, not all too un-similar from that of Naomi Campbell. Just saying. DAME.

Julia Roberts

Keri Russel

 Rachel Bilson

Diane Kruger

Emily Wickersham

Helen Mirren

Jennifer Hudson

Kiera Knightly

How to Dress in Downton Abbey Style, Part 2: The Roaring Twenties!

Downton Abbey is back, lords and ladies (although I highly doubt there are very many lords that will be reading this extensively), and I'm feeling in the mood to dress just like our favorite characters on the most beloved Upstairs/Downstairs show of all time. Since my last Downton Abbey post was so popular, I figured that with Season 4 in full swing here in America, it was the perfect opportunity to showcase the fabulous styles in the new era facing our the Crawley family and their staff.

It's the 20's now and bounds and limits are being broken left and right. It's a post-war England and people are finally taking a well deserved deep breath for the first time in a long time. The style of the era calls for daring and provocative (as provocative as a Lord and Lady of the time could get, I suppose), and that means showing more skin and wearing flashier clothes. There 20's was a time of freedom and experimentation, progression and advancement, and when you have the money and means of nobility, no fashion is off limits.

That said, there are still a few rules by which to play by, at least when it comes to formal wear:
  • Form figure dresses were not the order of the day; loose hanging and drape-y dresses with shorter hemlineswere the main focus, as were the fabulous women who wore them.
  • Embellishments and adornments, such as beading and fringe, were all the rage.
  • Color was back in a big way after years of monochromatic colors that were meant to highlight a nation at war.
  • Skin was everywhere. Shoulders and clavicles were being exposed at an alarming rate. Times were a changing!

The ladies of the 20's were not unlike we ladies today, so if you have a penchant for dressing jazzy (this focuses more on evening- and formal-wear), take a cue from this post! For my most loyal and modest readers, skin is optional; place an embellished cardigan or a velvet wrap over any of these dresses to reach your roaring 20's comfort level.

Glam Hour Beaded Drop Waist Dress

Loving those headpieces? I know, me too! This one is my favorite. It's simple and easy to use. And it's cheap too!

My Jennifer Lawrence Oscar Gown Prediction

J-Law, goddess of Hollywood that she is, is slightly on the predictable side when it comes to choosing gowns for award shows. Jennifer has been as loyal as a celebrity can be in the business in choosing to wear Dior to every single awards show. It's no surprise then that I think she will be wearing one of the following two looks.

To be completely honest I feel like she will go for the black one, but there is a small nudge in me that think she would go for the green. Either way, it's between these two Dior looks that have me thinking this will be J-Law's gown for the Oscars.

Will I be right? What do you think? Which one would you rather see her in for the Oscars?

Dior Haute Couture

Fast forward the video below to 11:20 to see these two looks walk the runway
And watch the whole video and see if you can spot all of Jeniffer Lawrence's already worn pieces from the Dior 2013 Autum Winter collection.
