RALPH LAUREN. Yes, the premier designer for all things Americana looks like he nodded his head in the frummie direction (although I could hardly say this was intentional). His looks exuded pure unadulterated Faltbush, Brooklyn circa 1992. There was quite a bit of nostalgia for the days when I wore white tights with polyester floral frocks and all the frum women in the PTA showed up to school wearing things like this:
But the soft touches of velvet were certainly nice, if not totally 90's. It appears that deep rich colors are in tall order this coming Fall, so prepare to be enveloped by a barrage of color. Everyone from Diane von Furstenburg to Marc Jacobs to Oscar de la Renta has got 'em. Embrace 'em!
