Shimmery Item of the Day

You know how sometimes you just wanna get a little blinged out and shimmer and shine like it's 1999? I know, me too. Don't worry, you're in good company. This top from Piperlime is like the best thing ever. It's perfect if you are into short sleeves but would look great under a blazer or cardigan (bonus points that the design is on the front only so you won't feel like you are covering up half the shirt you paid for). It hits all the essential colors (ahem, gold) and still manages to be cute and classy. Most of all, it's pleasing to the eye with a trendy but sophisticated graphic. Click the link below to glitter and glow in this top!

Striped Item of the Day

Stripes! Yippee! Nothing makes me more excited than stripes? Stripes means nautical, and nautical means summer, and summer means carefree, and I love nothing more than to be summer loving and carefree living. I especially love this skirt because it has all the whimsy of a good nautical summer skirt but it has the cut and silhouette of the perfect office look. This skirt will thrive in any professional environment but will meld right into any weekend look you're trying to achieve. I especially love how the model pairs it with a pop of orange; when all else fails, add color! Click the link below to get your hands on this nautical pencil skirt!

Polka Dot (New Mommy Debut) Item of the Day

The Princess has spoken and she has single-handedly ushered in the polka dot trend as a MUST HAVE right now. Polka dots have always been cute an adorable, but I always felt that they were way more cutesy than sophisticated. To be honest I still feel that way, but there is a certain softness that comes with a well-done polka dot. If you're jonesing for a very Kate Middleton look, this Brooks Brothers silk dress is on sale and ready for you wardrobe. The polka dots are small enough to not be too juvenile, and the cinched waist adds a very adult and flattering silhouette. They keyhole neckline is just enough to break up the pattern and add that last touch of sexiness. So make like a true princess and click the link below to buy this dress from Brooks Brothers!

Royal [Baby] Item of the Day

Mazal tov! IT'S A BOY!! In honor of the birth of the future king of all things awesome (and the U.K.), I decided to feature a dress that is royal in every way. Royal blue that is, and not just because it was a baby boy. This dress from ASOS not only looks like a fabulous frock that Mommy-to-be Kate would wear when she gets her figure back (so, like, tomorrow), it's got all the trappings of a truly modest dress, with a knee-hitting hem, elbow-grazing sleeves, and all kinds of covered-upness. In fact, this dress is reminiscent of Kate's Issa engagement dress, only with a little twist-- literally, and it's sophisticated and classy with just a touch of sexy. It runs in a US size 2 - 14 so women of all shapes and sizes rejoice-- we can all emulate the future Queen in style. Click the link below to get this positively royal dress.

Delightful Item of the Day

Looking for something ridiculously awesome to snazzify that lackluster spring wardrobe of yours? Behold this dress from Anthropologie. Now, I am aware that this dress is probably a little less modest for some of my readers but I know there are a quite a few out there that would meet the happy medium of modesty this dress offers. Keep in mind that you can cover this look up with a cardigan if necessary, so this dress is versatile for those not willing to show this much of their arms or back.  It goes up to a size 14, so it really embraces a ranges of women; it's got a flattering fit, and that print is perfection. The wide neckline is especially flattering for highlighting your stunning face. So, prepare to be the prettiest girl in the room in this utterly delightful dress.

Springy Item of the Day

Gotta love a DVF dress. I normally hate posting things that are outrageously and unnecessarily expensive, but I am so in love with sophisticated but fun wrap dress from DVF. The colors are fantastic and fluid, and the dress is highly flattering. Wrap dresses are famous for being figure friendly to women all over the spectrum, and this soft meets harsh color scheme will complement a slew of skin tones and complexions. It's really got all the makings of a perfect Passover dress, so if you're going to splurge on one new item this holiday, let be a designer piece that fits your life.

Pretty Item of the Day

This dress. Woah. I have never heard of this site or this retailer but this dress is stunning in every way shape and form. It goes from a size XS-XL so this should be fit-friendly to women of most sizes and the color is perfect for Spring. This color is called apricot which should compliment most skin tones, so points for that. I wouldn't wear this to a wedding because it's close enough to white, and you should never wear white to a wedding at risk of upstaging the bride, but feel free to purchase this fabulous dress for your Passover wardrobe. That's right, Passover is pretty much tomorrow, so time to get started on that spring wardrobe!

Glitzy Item of the Day

And then there were sequins. Those glittery, glowy, shiny little pieces of gold that make you look like a walking million dollars are just perfect for this most illuminating festival of lights! I always hesitate when it comes to too many sequins, but I think this fabulous skirt has all the makings of a really great fancy piece. It's a great in the modesty department, and you can really pair it with anything; any color, any fabric, and pattern. Seriously, pair this with a glamorous cream-colored cashmere sweater, or a black or navy silk blouse; or make it more casual with a white button down and a colored cardigan, or make it really sporty with a striped t-shirt. It's pretty much a neutral if you ask me. A really glitzy neutral.

Shimmery Item of the Day

Another day of Chanukah, another day to shine. This metallic dress from Victoria's Secret is the perfect dress to get you in touch with your inner 70's chick. Not to mention you can glitter and glow all night long in this subtle metallic finish dress. Plus, it's loose and unstructured so that means a lot of comfy room do move and stretch. They draping will certainly hide all the spots you don't want to highlight, while the color will brighten your face. So shine on, ladies!

Cozy Item of the Day

One of the bummer things about winter time is it's freezing outside (and inside too, if you work in my office). What better way to combat the cold than with both cuteness and warmth. This sweater from JCrew is the ultimate in cozy, and will be perfect for a weekend excursion or a chilly office day. I'm picturing this with a great plaid or tartan skirt (if your daring), or a regular and classic pencil skirt. Pair it with a denim skirt over the weekend, and... voila: a multipurpose, awesome and adorable sweater. Plus, how great is that color blocking-- putting the lighter color by the face to lighten it up and  and the darker color down lower on the trouble spots. Genius. Huzzah!

Wintery Item of the Day

Winter! It's almost upon us, and that means endless amounts of cocoa and cider, snow, boots, and of course, cozy sweaters to bundle up in. What better than a sweater dress to warm up those chilly days in the office? This fabulous sweater dress is a timeless essential for your wardrobe. It's got a great cable knit look, hits the knee, is a fabulous shade of grey (and also comes in taupe). A dress that's truly perfect for the working woman. And coming from a gal who has an office that would suit an eskimo just fine, this dress hits the nail on the head. Stay warm, OAKies!

Tweed Item of the Day

Oh Tweed. I love you. You are one of the only things I like about Fall and Winter. You're just the right weight, got great texture, and you are always a statement piece. With that love letter said, here is my dedication to tweed int he form of an item of the day. This skirt which comes in black and  winter white (which really looks more charcoal and ivory) is knee-length and fabulous for all occasions. You can wear it to the office or to shul, and you will look stellar either way. Best part is, this skirt will never, repeat NEVER, go out of style It's more than just a skirt-- it's an investment. Trust me.

Graphic Item of the Day

There is something special about an article of clothing that does all the work for you, and that's what I love about this cardigan. The print is bold and beautiful, but feminine and understated at the same time. It speaks volumes while maintaining a sophisticated edge, which is is what makes it perfect for amping up any outfit. The colors are perfect for fall, and the pattern is just graphic enough to be dressed up or down. Best of all, because the pattern is comprised of smaller graphics that make up a larger pattern, it will look great on women of many sizes; the pattern will emphasize the right parts of you and disguise the ones that you're not so fond of. All in all, this one is a keeper.
