Full Outfit! Items of the Day

Oh yes. Yes, yes, yes. I LOVE when stores do all the work for me, and as always, J. Crew comes through for me. This whole outfit out together by J. Crew has me so smitten with delight that I simply had to feature the whole shebang, and not just one of the pieces. It has everything I (and you should) love in a good outfit: well fitted clothes, modest meeting points on both top and bottom, graphic prints (that are mixed!) and an an overall chic look that is ready-to-wear! The pieces are both interchangeable with other tops and bottoms from your local non J. Crew retailer, which makes these otherwise somewhat pricey items kind of worth it. The small print on top will minimize any trouble areas, while the bold graphic on the bottom should balance you out. This look is geometric, fun and classy. Be daring, be bold and be awesome in this gorgeous outfit!

Lace Item of the Day

I must give credit to Tova R. for this skirt that she posted on Pinterest; I saw she posted it and I knew that I had to post it as an item of the day! The delicate but bright pastel colors are perfect for summer and have all the right hints of a romantic, feminine piece. With lace fabric, scalloped edges, and pretty colors, the overall message of this skirt is "ultimate-girly-girl". Pair this skirt with a pair of nude pumps and a blouse-y top, however, and you will badass this lace girly-girl skirt in a heartbeat. Thanks Tova!

Metallic Item of the Day

I especially love posting items that I have purchased and/or own myself, which is why I bring you this item today. If you read back to my Israel post from yesterday, you'll see I mentioned a Mango skirt that I bought for what I thought was only two dollars; alas, it was $70, but to my complete and utter delight, I got it cheaper in Israel than it is here in America. SUCCESS!

This metallic mango skirt is the epitome of comfort and glam, and it looks so fluid and shiny. It has an elastic waistband, so this skirt could be worn up high or down low--wherever you prefer. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion: for example, I tried it on with a white tank top and a denim jacket jacket for a mare casual look, but then switched it to a fancy sequin top for night time. Totally versatile!

Cotton Item of the Day

A knee length pencil skirt that's got a really pretty design should never be overlooked. Oh gee, look what I found-- a knee length pencil skirt that's got a really pretty design.  I picture this skirts with a white button down a a great pair of heels for Shavuot, no? Luckily this skirt is cotton, so it will make for a very comfortable summer skirt. Be daring and pair it with a neon belt for some true pop!

44 Blue and White

So with today being Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day), the day where the holiest city ever was liberated by Israeli forces, I decided to pay homage to the colors of the beautiful Israeli flag. If you like blue and you like white, and you like blue and white together, then consider embracing them this summer!

Nautical is the quintessential summer staple, and just so happens to match the colors of the Israeli flag! Try some of these nautical and blue and white looks:

Jerusalem, if I forget thee, may my fashion wardrobe suffer.

Pretty For Passover--Florals

Passover. I know it may seem like an ugly word, what with all the baggage that comes with it--endless cooking, meticulous cleaning, and the 6 letter word that brings fear to small intestines the world over...matzah

Well, at least there is one thing that is bright and sunny about this holiday--the fashion! It's that time of year to go out and buy all the pretty spring pieces your heart desires. While I am sure most of you have already purchased your upcoming Passover outfits, I have concocted a few lists of some last-minute must haves that would be great for Passover and beyond. The next few posts will be all about pretty for Passover!

This list focuses on florals. Florals are the most elegant and girly way to celebrate spring via your clothing, so feel free to go small or scream big with your floral prints. Just make it pretty!

Mad Men perfection for a modern day frummie. I approve.

You will certainly stand out in this bright frock, but feel free to work it.

Definitely a bit more casual, but perfect for your walks in the park on a holiday afternoon to walk off the Passover pounds. Good luck

Subtle and classic, this skirt is the ultimate addition to your Passover wardrobe. It will match almost any top and shoe, so take this blank page and make it your own!

This dress is like a walking Botanic Garden. It's understated but loud at the same time and will look totally perfect for shul and work. Trust me...I'm a fashionista.

Perfect with a shirt underneath, or a light sweater over it, this tank is great for your holiday afternoons.

Being that this is the tallest model on earth, take with a grain of salt that this dress will hit your knee. Then proceed to buy and love this dress forever(21). Pun intended.I'm a dork.

Mix prints! Don't be afraid to mix this adorable skirt with a striped shirt. Just be wise about your choices when mixing prints. It could get tricky, but I have  unconditional faith in you, as did God in the Israelites when they crossed the sea--yes this is the EXACT same situation.

It's a bit plain, but that is exactly how this floral should be. A cute sandal and cardigan, and you're good to go.

This adorable top comes in two fabulous colors and it only 16 dollars. I am ridiculously in love with it and want to make a beautiful garden with these tops. Perfect for work and Passover alike.

So, these are just some ideas and samples for you to work off of, but please remember that Passover is a spring holiday and therefore a time for your fashion sense to bloom. Take my adivce: smell the roses...and then wear them.

Spring Forward!

I have a confession to make to you all.

So, as you are all very much aware, the weather in New York has been beyond miserable this Winter. (P.S. I am blaming Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt for these weather catastrophes all over the world; I think God is still punishing us for their sins. Just saying.) Because of this gloomy, yucky, weather, I have been forced to wear outfits that are mostly black and contain almost no color whatsoever. I am a bona fide frummie.

Eek! Fear not though, because I am still donning my sky-high heels; but alas, I have been wearing the typical frummie uniform for far too many weeks now, and I need color back in my life!

There are two ways to rectify this most depressing of situations; first, Spring needs to come A.S.A.P. Second, I need to go shopping.

Since there are just 13 glorious days and counting till that most auspicious vernal equinox, I have decided to soak up what little New York sun there is by perusing my favorite stores for some bright colored, hot ticket items that will make the birds chirp, the bees buzz and any other Spring/Summer idiom I can muster up. Somebody get me a floral print, stat!

Embellished Tunic
Start off with something soft. Literally, what is softer than silk, and this blouse has just the right punch for spring and is perfect for the office. Pair with a cardigan if those sleeves are not long enough for you

If this skirt doesn't hit your tznius little knee, I don't know what will!

I own it. I live in it. I love it.

Crocheted knits are HUGE this Spring. Check out this sweater out!

You know very well how I feel about cardigans, so then my love for this next item should be as clear to you as a Spring day without rain.

I am going to purchase this shirt the second I get out of work. Love, love, love.
Go for a splash of color with this fabulous dress. Slip a black blazer over the dress for the office and cardigan for your weekends.

Romance and ruffles are the perfect accents for a spring fling!

Hello, affordable and adorable.

Polish off any outfit with a waist-cincher that is sure to catch an eye or two.

So, are you all ready for spring? Take a cue or two from here and try to incorporate soft colors, fabrics and textures into your spring clothing. Don't be afraid of florals, and remember that those winter blues (and blacks!) are meant for the winter only.
