Golden Delicious

The New Year fashions continue, and I've put together this little collection of tops that shine like the Waterford ball that drops on that other new year. Yes, you will certainly sparkle, glimmer and glow in these golden pieces that are sure to get your [apple] juices flowing. (Keep in mind that many of these are shorter sleeves so you may opt to wear a kiki riki underneath)

Bonus? Almost every single one is under 100 bucks face value, and each one has some sort of sale or promo code to apply, so make sure you look those up for some extra savings, and then give the difference to tzedakah!

Blessed Art Thou Dresses

The best part about the Jewish holidays is that it's an actual mitzvah to buy and wear new clothing! It's practically a commandment from God to use your credit card on awesome clothing, and subsequently bless yourself with a She'hecheyanu blessing (read about that here) when donning them for the first time, which is why I am so excited for the upcoming New Year festivities! That, and any excuse to have an apple is OK by me.

Just picture yourself in these fabulous dresses and blessing yourself in them, because you are supposed to! Gotta love Judaism. Also gotta love the collection I put together for you below. Shana tova!

Apples, Honey and Burberry

At Burberry's London fashion show last week, there were some pretty modest clothes that walked down that runway. Granted it's for Spring 2012, but notice any trends here? Deep, rich colors and hues dominated the show, perfect for this Rosh Hashanah when it's not as cold as Sukkot, but just cold enough to grab that fabulous sweater you just bought for fall.  Plus, those knee length skirts don't suck either. Winning!

Inspired? Try some of these pieces I have put together on the (relatively) cheap, and don't forget, shopping at ASOS (which many of the pieces are below) is free shipping both ways, so INDULGE (and then return as necessary)!

Countdown to the New Year with me with some extra special fashions each day! Shana Tova!

The Big Bang!

Yesterday was a really exciting day for me because on a whim, I posted my blog on Mayim Bialik's wall... and she wrote back to me!!

It wasn't for a plug or publicity at all, but because I genuinely thought Mayim would be interested in what my blog had to offer. For those of you who don't know who Mayim is, she's a fabulous actress who I used to watch as a kid on Blossom, and now get to watch as an adult on The Big Bang Theory (an Emmy winning show!) She also happens to be a religious Jew and a fan of this little thing we call modesty, and that's genuinely why I shared my blog with her, and am happy to say she likes it!

I spend a lot of time on Modest Hollywood picking out the girls who one day decided to put on a long sleeved shirt and a skirt, but Mayim makes a conscious effort to dress the part (pun intended) on a daily basis. Her Emmy dress wowed last week, and deserves a post all it's own!

Thanks for being a fan, Mayim, and thanks for staying true to your beliefs in a town and business as tough as yours.
