Crochet Item of the Day

Oh hell yes. I know you are ALL going to love this item. I can feel it in my fashionista veins. Universally flattering on all women of all sizes, this lightweight crocheted skirt is the ultimate in perfection for the spring and summer. I picture every frummie from here to Hashem wearing this skirt on Pesach. A frilly, fanciful, full skirt that has black and ivory-- I mean you just CAN'T go wrong! It will never go out of style, so you're sure to get your money's worth. Hashem says so.

Tie Dye Item of the Day

I have yet to meet a girl who doesn't love a little tie dye in their life. I'm not talking for the everyday, but tie dye has a certain charm and casual finesse to it that makes every girl put it on and feel chic but cool. This uber-cheap dress from Forever21 is the ultimate in adorableness from the tie dye contingent. I even bought it myself, and am thrilled with it. The colors are tame and cool, and the fit is loose and comfortable. Put a kikiriki on underneath, or slap a loose cardigan over this (depending on your comfort level), and then pair with a ridiculously adorable sandal. Then go about your day.

Everyday Item of the Day

Well, hello comfy! This skirt from C&C California is your new go-to, everyday skirt. Perfect length with a sandal, this skirt is just screaming "wear me everyday", and from the looks of it, you will never want to take this skirt off. I also like the casual silhouette that could totally be dressed up with a nice top and summery wedge (like the model) or dressed down with a flat sandal and t-shirt. Elastic waist, non-black-neutral, below the knee, light fabric. What more could you ask for? Everyone from mommies to models should have this skirt in their wardrobe!

Lace Item of the Day

Yay, lace! One of the official fabrics of warm weather, lace is the ultimate in romantic and feminine, and this top from Mango is three-quarter sleeve cuteness for the holiday season. I'm always a bit wary of white lace in everyday fashion, at the risk of looking slightly bridal in a non-bridal world, but this top seems casual enough to break that mold. The pinkier version of the blouse is perfect though, especially as one of those pieces that will be fancier for shul in the morning, and then change into a more casual skirt in the afternoon; one piece worn two ways. I think Jessica Simpson calls that a "twofer"!

Mad Men Season 5 - 'Dress' Like A Lady!

It's baaacck! Finally, after months of longing and waiting, one of my favorite shows has returned, and it is evident that I can hardly contain my excitement! As a follow-up to my successful post on that other period-piece show I posted about (ahem, Downton Abbey), I decided to write one dedicated solely to the groovy sixties, essentially the main character in the show Mad Men!

So what were the dresses of the moment? Figure-flattering, waist-cinching, covered-but-alluring sheaths that were vibrant and colorful. Women wanted to be noticed in the sixties, recovering from a World War that cast a gloom over the country for more than two decades. It was time to have fun in the sixties! I say, it's about time we bring back some of that fun!

Lord knows I did my best to try and find as many of the following dresses with sleeves, but the fact of the matter is that times are different, and full-on modesty is not as prevalent or fashionable today as it was back then. Suffice it to say, the sixties was a time where women challenged their roles in society and started to break through that glass ceiling, so it was a great time to be a woman. The following dresses are highly reminiscent of the era--fun, flirty, daring, but still ladylike. Add a cardigan to the barer dresses, and you are set for some sensational sixties fabulosity!

Lightweight Item of the Day

Looking for a springy/summery skirt that will fulfill  all your warm weather needs? I know, me too. That's why this skirt from Old Navy is the perfect everyday, beat-it-up-and-wear-it-all-season skirt. It's lightweight and breezy, and it's long enough to be on trend, but still short enough to not trip over yourself when you're walking down the street. Plus, ELASTIC! That's my favorite part! Some days, you just hate how that button closure from your denim skirt just bulges out underneath all your shirts; sometimes, you just want to slip on a skirt and not worry about your waistline.pair with an adorable gladiator sandal for ultimate cuteness.
(I can't say I'm crazy about the print one, but the navy one is perfect!)

Pencil Item of the Day

I think we should all take a moment to celebrate the pencil skirt. Perfect, figure flattering, professional, and essential, the pencil skirt is the every-woman's go-to skirt for all occasions. And now, this wardrobe staple meets fabulous fun in this berry color. Perfect for the warmer months (and even the colder months too!), this skirt would look great in any office or shul. because the color is so bright you can go with light neutrals, or even jazz it up even further with a great green or blue. I can just picture the options now!

I Do! Modest Brides and Bridesmaids-- or Just Your Average Frummie

Happy do-da day, Ruche just released their Wedding Collection! Now, I'm not a bride, but I am ever the bridesmaid, so this does make me happy in ways it probably shouldn't. Ruche is geared toward the vintage-y bride, but there is no reason this bridesmaid can't revel in a little vintage-y-bride action, especially since their stuff is versatile enough for the everyday woman! Here's a taste of what they have to offer, but make sure you go check out their entire "To Have and To Hold" Collection!

I especially LOVE this Audrey Dress, which is as modest and can be! It is a bit pricey, but I think it's fabulous from start to finish, and you definitely don't have to be a bride to wear it! I happen to find that for the frummie contingent, this collection is more 'engagement party' than it is wedding, but awesome nonetheless!

Add these amazing sash belts (which I just bought) for a touch of class! They are perfect for any dress, not just the Audrey dress!

Looking for a cover up? What frummie isn't?? try some of these, which are super girly and feminine, and perfect for all your Pesach outfits!

Don't forget some perfect-for-spring head-wear! Some of these headbands are so fascinating and beautiful, that if you dare to pull them off, you will be the envy of ladies everywhere. You definitely don't need to be a bride to pull these stunners off!

Peach Item of the Day

My lord, this weather! I cannot have imagined a more perfect winter, and this is the perfect weather for the start of a very beautiful spring! This makes for a very happy fashion blogger, because spring fashion is the ultimate; the colors, the fabrics, the textures, oh my! This peach three-quarter sleeve top from Zara is the most refreshing piece for a any outfit; it's in a light, breezy fabric, and can totally be dressed up or down. Take any black skirt and instantly spring-ify it with this top. Plus, peach happens to be one of the most flattering colors on all skin tones, so you are bound to look stunning!

Modest Hollywood

Well well, Hollywood. Someone went and got all modest on me! I've been noticing a slight lag in the modesty department lately on some of my favorite leading Hollywood ladies. But this week, most of the gals showed up in true fabulous and modest style. I can't decide who to give my OAKie of the week to because there is just so much awesomeness (minus you, Debra Messing and Emma Roberts), but I think it will have to go to Kate Middleton. The Duchess shows up to every appearance flawless!
